This flyer is announcing the Sign-Up Period for local businesses and organizations to participate in the Connect Me 2 FV Passoport Program.
Hello Business Friend!
There is an exciting opportunity to engage with youth and support efforts of positive youth development, community connection and help to promote healthy outcomes for youth happening in the communities of Fountain Valley. Connect Me 2 FV, an initiative of Fountain Valley Communities That Care, which aims to provide more opportunities, programs, and resources for young people in their community based on youth connectedness is launching a fresh innovative Passport Program. The Passport Program will operate from September through November 2024, but first… we need businesses, organizations, and programs to come on board as sites of participation. What does this mean?
This means saying “yes” to youth connecting to their community, experiencing inclusion and positive encouragement via your business, organization, or program. As a registered participating business/organization/program, every time that a youth visits your site or participates in one of your programs, they will receive a stamp on your specific page in the passport booklet. This stamp not only serves to indicate that the youth is seeking ways to engage and interact with various aspects of their community but is also establishing connectedness to fellow community members by building relationships. This type of community involvement and interpersonal bonding promotes increased prosocial behavior – positive behavior that helps to protect against the development of problem behaviors.
An additional caveat to your involvement in this momentous endeavor to build on youth connections and uplift youth in the Fountain Valley communities is the increased opportunity for families of the wonderful Fountain Valley to visit your business/organization.
